Win Free Kong Toys

Win Free KONG Toys

At KONG, we believe that all animals—especially those in shelters—need to play. We know you feel the same, and that’s why we have KONG Seconds.

Our Seconds program allows you to purchase slightly imperfect KONG rubber toys. Despite their slight aesthetic imperfections, these toys are still perfect for play. Unfortunately, the name “KONG Seconds” is a bit confusing (they’re not used!).

We’ve been racking our brains for a new name that better relays what these toys are. Then we realized we weren’t the best people for the job, you are! We’ve decided to rename KONG Seconds by holding a contest that’s open to all of our shelter and rescue partners. The winning organization will receive a gift box of KONG Seconds (insert new name here).

Here’s how it works:

• Stage 1: Submit one name for consideration. In the case that multiple organizations submit the same name, the group that submitted first will be credited with the entry

• Stage 2: Our eight favorite entries will be entered into a bracket competition hosted on our Facebook page. We will set the bracket randomly and each week, our Facebook fans will decide which names advance. The last name standing will replace KONG Seconds.

Ready? Put your thinking caps on because each organization only gets one submission. Once you’ve made a decision, email your ideas to mel74@aol.com.

Reviews of a few dog treats without propylene glycol

All three of the barkers love these bars.  Pumpkin is always a huge hit with my dogs  Plus these are soy, wheat and corn free.

. The labs would not touch these.  The Boston Terrier loved them.  I guess my dogs don’t like fish.  They were also tough and chewy, which my black lab pepper does not like.

.  These are like dog crack for my dogs.   They are meant to be training treats but I swear they would eat a whole bag at one time if i would let them.  These are some of their most favorite treats.

SmartBones® Vegetable and Chicken Chews for Dogs - PetSmart My dogs go crazy for these things.. and they aren’t made of the evil rawhide I hate  but a 100% digestible vegetable chew shell.  I only wish they were cheaper, because 4 of them are 10-16 dollars and they go fast.    I really wish more companies would do the vegetable chew instead of rawhide or pigskin.  Much safer for your dogs.  Dr Fosters and Smith has a good one too.   I mean  my dogs seriously fight over these bones.

My dogs also really love the Pur Love  which is a vegetable and chicken or beef and peanut butter hard  chew that is 100% digestible.  Pur Luv Pur Luv Grande Bone Peanut Butter Flavor

There are other treats my dogs love  such as snausages, puperoni, and begging strips but since those do have propylene glycol  in them, i don’t buy them.  My dogs don’t need to be eating antifreeze.

Love with food box..yummy but too pricey

I also got a Love for Food box on Friday.  Now this box was not really disappointing but a little pricy for the size of the samples.  Now, everything I have tried was good, but small.  I guess I wanted bigger samples to share.   I may try Nature Box.   I got a  small Wild Garden Humus, a Bruchetta dip, a bag of dried cinnamon apple slices, a bag of cinnamon flavored corn nuts, a good boy organicsauros  cheese cracker dinosaur shaped snack,  a organic blueberry fig newton type cookie, a organic berry cherry oat unbaked  cookie, a small bag of yummy fruit gummy bear type snacks, and two bags of  spicy tortilla tea.  I think that’s all.  So I guess there were a lot od snacks in there but the bags were small and i wanted more than one serving.   You can see the corn snacks here https://lovewithfood.com/products/595-baked-organic-corn-snack-organicasaurus-by-good-boy-organics, one of the cookies here https://lovewithfood.com/products/599-cherry-berry-raw-cookie-by-licious-organics, the apples https://lovewithfood.com/products/598-100-natural-crunchy-cinnamon-apple-chips-from-bare-fruit-by-bare-fruit, the tea https://lovewithfood.com/products/600-millies-savory-sipping-broth-teas-tin-by-millies-savory-teas,  the yummy but pricy fruit snacks https://lovewithfood.com/products/601-organic-fruit-snacks-by-yumearth-organics,  and the corn nutshttps://lovewithfood.com/products/528-heavenly-morsels-of-baked-cinnamon-corn-by-cosmos-creations.  I am not saying all this wasn’t yumm…it was just above my budget.  Sad face 😦

Subscription boxes.. lets start with beauty box.

I decided to try a beauty subscription box.  I tried Beauty Box 5.  I got a beauty drench lip glass, which was the best item, a powder eye color in gold, which I may use, expensive hair ties ( box claimed 7.99 for 4) which I won’t use because I have really short hair, a package of facial cleaning wipes with argon oil which I have not tried yet, and a skin inc, wrinkle filler and skin plumper which was a tiny tiny dinky ass sample.   I was expecting  larger and better products for my money.   Plus, there is no way to call the company on line.. its all over email which does not have me pleased.      I know this is not a detailed review, but just an over view.  These are products that I wouldn’t normally buy and  i wasn’t that impressed.  It you want larger samples I would recommend Ispy.

JW dog toys

For my dogs at least, these seem to be the best toys.  They are hard to tear up and keep their interest.  I think this ball is my dogs favorite toy, and he loves his squeaky frog. It hasn’t torn up either which is amazing with how a lab chews.  ImageImage

Happy Dog Box Sept 2013..not a happy box

While trying boxes I decided to order this box because I got an email offer to try the first month for 4.99.  I was thinking great, cheap dog items and toys.  Well, what a disappointment it proved to be.   My box had two red barn pigs ears, which are not something I feed my dog, a rawhide chew, two bags  of treats and a football flyer toy.   I looked for a picture of this toy, but couldn’t find one on line.  Its a thin rubber hollow football shaped toy though.  Not suitable for a lab.    The treats were beer flavored dog treats.  Ok.  The dogs liked them though.  So out of 6 items, I really only got two bags of treats.  Ugh.  See link, to know why i don’t feed rawhide.
